Desktop Pilot TPM Vernier Throttle Box Review
Review of the TPM (Throttle, Prop, Mixture) throttle box with vernier control by DeskTop Pilot. Vernier control allows the user to make fine adjustments to the mixture and propeller levers for precise settings, or large adjustments by pressing a button and pulling/pushing the level all the way in or out. This throttle box also contains a throttle friction lock on the throttle, just like a friction lock found on many aircraft with similar engine controls.
Desktop Pilot has a 3D printed version available for 349 USD. The metal version and the 3D version are identical except for the materials used for the knobs and buttons in the unit. The metal version is 499 USD at the time this video was made.
This throttle is compatible with MSFS 2020, X-Plane 11, X-Plane 12, FSX, and Prepare3D.

Easy Descent Planning | When to Descend | Professional Pilot | MSFS
Переглядів 4,6 тис.5 місяців тому
Two methods used in descent planning are demonstrated. The first method is extremely simple and shows when to start the descent based on time. Method 2 shows when to start the descent based on distance and what rate of descent is required. VNAV makes descent planning easy, but for jets like the FlySimWare Lear 35, there is no FMS, and no VNAV. Descent planning is easy without VNAV, and after wa...

    hi! does your msfs longitude do the NAV 1 activated ILS frequency morse beeps beeps? Mine doesn't

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad 22 години тому

      @@tonazzz you mean to positively identify the localizer? Make sure the radio voices (?) volume is turned up in sound settings. If the Nav 1 shows the localizer ident I-XYZ (localizer idents always start with the letter I as in India) you don’t have to identify the frequency over the radio frequency. The avionics are doing it for you by displaying the I-“XYZ” identifier on the Nav 1 display on the PFD.

    Ah thank you very much! But how is the tail rotor trimmed and where is the force-trim function? The tail rotor is the most important aspect, I cannot twist against the feather of the joystick for half an hour while flying to keep it from turning in circles :D

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad 5 днів тому

      Unfortunately, there isn’t a binding for tail rotor trim in the sim. When at normal cruise speeds, little to no tail rotor input should be needed.

    Great video! By the way, is there any way to retrieve the ILS frequency of the destination runway from the FMS?

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad 6 днів тому

      If the approach is loaded the frequency will be entered automatically. I do not believe there is an option to look up the ILS frequency ahead of time in the FMS in MSFS. If it works, go to INDEX page 2 and select ARR DATA. I have used this FMS for 12 years and had to look this up. I never use this feature. The LOC will be tuned automatically. Before intercepting final, it’s a good idea to verify the tuned frequency matches the frequency on the approach plate.

    Bro!! After learning your Rnav I got the hang of the Rnav approach but had issues on landing over and over. lol. But its a great learning curve!! You have made a huge difference between Rnav and ILS. I had such difficult time time to remember the ILS for Nav1 and DME and this and that. I just got the hang of using the Simbrief setup and the Approach setup. One thing I did not know is to load and activate and when to hit the app mode. Thank you for that! I've also had a hard time trying to figure out the speed for landing. Even though this video is 3+ years old, doesn't matter. The new G5000 setup is still the same. You made my ILS skill much more easier!! THANK YOU!! I give you a HIGH FIVE 🤚for the best video you ever made! I wrote down on my notes what needs to be done correctly. So now I'll try to avoid Rnav landings if I could LOL. Thanks again for all your help!!
